At the end of 2021, the Bliss & Wisdom Charitable Organization (BWCO) of Southern California rescued nearly one hundred sheep and goats from slaughter. Driven by love and commitment, a long journey to protect this vulnerable herd began. The mission is not to just save their lives, give them a loving home, and allow them to live out their natural lifespans, but most importantly, to help them find a new purpose in life.

In January 2023, HBBL was officially established. Since then, the fate of this herd has successfully been transformed from “food on the table” to contributors to the greater good of the community. Their waste is turned into compost, which nourishes the soil. Their wool offers many uses for household use, gardening, handicraft, etc. Their gentle and innocent character makes them an irresistible healing agent for many. And above all, they are hard-working environmental warriors! So far, more than 100 of the herd have traveled to Northern California’s Peacock Villa to graze its overgrown vegetation to prevent wildfires. Meanwhile, the remaining residents at HBBL actively participate in educational programs to promote environmental and life protection.

We believe that every action of kindness brings forth a life-changing power not only to the animals, but people’s hearts and minds. Gratitude will thus prevail in all lives.
